User:Fraf/List of animals - Lv1
This page lists about ~250 titles of animals-related articles to be created that seam the most important. It focuses on either most common, or most familiar animals, as well as the main taxons. Accent is put on familiar common names, be it a true species name (Lion), or taxon name (Bat), or even a name without scientific value (Salmon), since Vikidia is not a scientific encyclopedia, but just an encyclopedia, and science is only one of its goals. Nota : the or doesn't necessarly means that both terms are synonyms : it is also used whenever any one, but not all the mentioned article are important to be writen, in order to give a peculiar example.
Further reading :
- /List of animals - Lv2 (in course) : more scientifical, completed with true species names (also it tries to keep common names rather than scientific names), includes some examples that are designed to be representative of their taxon.
- /List of animals - Lv3 (in course) : aimed to be representative of biodiversity : contains more "odd" species, to satisfy children's curiosity ; the most important taxon (in terms of number of species) are granted with a higher number of representatives, even if that means they are quite similar to each other
