I welcome you to Vikidia, the encyclopedia for everyone, written in part by 8- to 13-year-olds

Interwiki redirects to Wikipedia

Hi GoldenBootWizard276!

Sorry to drop this on you, but when you put interwiki links in articles, which lead to the English Wikipedia, could you please direct those links to the Simple English Wikipedia, please? As a Wikipedian with English as a second language, I know how complex articles on ENWP can be!

Since Vikidia is meant for kids from 8 to 13, it would be helpful for links to go to an article, written in a reasonably simple manner, to make it better for users from here who want a bit more info than we hold!

I've changed the one on Pope Francis to go to SEWP, and I'll have a poke through and see if I can find others that might need directing to a simpler version in the morning!

DaneGeld: I saw that on many of the articles on Vikidia, there are links to the English Wikipedia and the Simple English Wikipedia, so that was why I had included the links to the English Wikipedia, but what you say makes sense. GoldenBootWizard276: Now you say that, it does make me consider it. Yes, our primary audience is children, but children are different, and some may have more knowledge than others. The other thing is this; our audience isn't exclusively children... I'll put the Wikipedia link back on the article, and we can both go hunting and put missing links in where there's one or the other. Please, Don't copy template from Wikipedia with errors

A year later, if you're still doing this, we're asking you again: please do not copy from Wikipedia not only with errors but without attributing. And consider if it's really necessary to as well. Over 100 or 200 templates I've found have been copied over and aren't needed on this wiki. Gstar (talk) 15:17, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

I am not "flooding" rc. I am making alot of edits because I want to grow this wiki. But if you would not like to see my edits in recent changes, then you could go into filters and then filter to only see "manually patrolled" or "unpatrolled" edits.
