Your modifications[edit source]

Hi,

Could you please avoid to remove information when you edit the articles? it's exhausting checking after you to put it back, as you did in Aardvark, and chicken (among others...)

Of course you can check the pages, and correct what seems to you to be wrong, but cutting of informations is a nonsense For example, why did you remove the scientific name of the aardvark, or why did you delete a full paragraph in the page chicken, just to remove one movie and replace the other in the introduction ? That's definitively a nonsense.

Furthermore :

  • it is not pertinent to put an article in a mother category of its own ; for example, putting aardvark in the Category:Animals is useless, since it is in the Category:Mammals, that belongs to Category:Animals... etc.
  • it is not good to force resolution of a picture by using the px code (suche as |250px|, for example), because different users have different screens, with different resolutions, and different preferences...

Globally, except for typing errors (I actually use an AZERTY keybord, rather than a QWERTY, and its hard to write quicly in English with it...), I had to undo most of your modifications... Please be carefull next time... -Fraf (talk) 17:05, 27 January 2014 (CET)

Sport tortoise[edit source]

Oh... Why did you just blank the Sports "did you know?" section? I really liked this version Happy Haha! I'm glad someone liked it! Anyway, I reverted it to the sports DYKs.

Seriously, I like your idea of a "did you know" component and I know that working with portal components may be confusing. It takes a bit of time and care to set them up, but they offer great value to all of us. So, keep faith and thanks for your good work on Vikidia:en!

Categories[edit source]

Hello SeeSpotRun, I saw that you created a lot of categories, thank you! But can you add if you create a category {{Category|Title of the category}}? 12345dan (talk) 06:17, 19 March 2014 (CET)

And you blank some of existing ones as well. Sometimes it must be done indeed. In this case, however, I don't understand:
  • Removing this category from its parent Category:Literature... removes an easy mean to access a list of writers from the Portal:Literature.
  • Removing it's inter-viki link means that we cannot jump to a corresponding category in another Vikidia anymore.
Why these changes?
By the way, you may want to use templates such as {{Obsolete category}} to explain why that they are prepared for deletion, or {{Category redirect}} when exceptionally it is not intended to delete the empty category page. Kind regards, Klipe (talk) 15:35, 28 March 2014 (CET)

Thumb - Size of images[edit source]

Hello SeeSpotRun,

Please avoid specifying fixed sizes (e.g. "170px") for thumbnail images. The size should be specified using the "upright" parameter instead, whose value 1 corresponds to the size defined in the user's preferences, tab "Appearance", section "File" (parameter "Thumbnail size"). This way, we respect each registered user's choice that may have been defined based on the size and resolution of the user's usual screen, his vision capability and other personal reasons.
