Zheng He
Zheng He was a Chinese admiral (leader of a fleet of sailing ships) and diplomat (visiting politician).
He lived from about 1371 to 1435.
The emperor (king) of China made him the leader of many voyages starting in 1405.
He traveled to Vietnam, Java and Siam. Then he sailed to the lands near the Indian Ocean like Sri Lanka, Arabia, India, and Africa.
After his voyages, Chinese people went to live in these areas and trade began which lasted for hundreds of years.
