Wikimedia Foundation
The Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) is a non-profit organization. Its headquarters are in San Francisco, California, United States.
The Wikimedia Foundation hosts many wiki projects, including Wikipedia. It also maintains the popular wiki software MediaWiki, which runs Wikipedia and Vikidia.
The organization was founded by Jimmy Wales in 2003, who is currently on the Board of Directors.
