Hi JohnintheBox, Welcome to the English Vikidia. Thank you for your contributions. I notice you've come over to us from the English Wikipedia. I'd just like to make you aware that we don't have a "Manual of Style" for grammar and spelling here, so making reference to MOS in edit summaries probably isn't going to work.

Vikidia is predominantly aimed at young children from 8 years upwards and we have writers from many language groups, some of whom are speakers of English as a second or subsequent language - like myself. If you want to correct things, simply just correct them and note what you did.

One other thing, could I please ask you not to edit the user pages of other users. If there is a problem with them, please let the user know on their talk page and give them the opportunity to fix it. The only person who should edit their userpage is the user themselves. Thanks. DaneGeld: Thanks for the welcome and notes! By the way, could I request my account username be renamed 'JackintheBox' (to coincide with my Wikipedia username)? I made a request at Vikidia:Requests/Bureaucrats but don't have a response yet. I also tried using the 'Rename' template {{rename|Username|New username|Reason}} shown at the top of the page, but it doesn't seem to work. Regards JohnintheBox (talk) 18:12, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

Also, on Vikidia:User rights I read that 'most Vikidia user accounts that are more than four days old and have made at least 10 edits are considered autoconfirmed'. Hi JohnintheBox. Thank you for getting in touch with me. I apologise for the delay in your rename - we do have bureaucrats, but they do a lot of their work on the French version of Vikidia. I have pinged them this evening and attracted their attention to your rename request. Hopefully it shouldn't be too long! Also, with regard to your not being able to edit my talk page, I do not understand it. You should be able to do so. The Vikidia:User rights page does say that the right is granted automatically and that the precise requirements vary, looking at your contributions you should, by now, have been granted the right. You will know for certain by checking your Preferences tab once in a while and checking to see if you can carry out restricted things, like moving pages, etc. If you need anything else, for now, post here and ping me to come to you by using {{@|DaneGeld}} to grab my attention!
