Paper size
Paper sizes refer to the standard dimensions of sheets of paper that are produced. The most common size is called "A4," which is generally used for printers.

Using a standard paper size helps prevent machines or printers from being incompatible with the paper.
In printing, it is necessary for the paper supplied to match the machine's format precisely.
In Europe, Africa, and Asia, with a few exceptions, the A4 format is the most common. When purchasing a printer, it is therefore very often designed to print on this paper format.
In America, not all countries use the same primary format, and it is often different from A4.

The A4 format corresponds to a sheet measuring 21 cm by 29.7 cm. Formats beginning with the letters A, B, and C correspond to an international standard.
In France, different format names are still sometimes used, such as "raisin" (50 cm by 65 cm), which is mainly used for drawing.
In the United States, the most common standard is a size of 21.6 cm by 27.9 cm.
