Wings of Fire is a saga book, written by Tui. T Sutherland.
Story[edit | edit source]
The story is about dragons, at war, which are divided into 7 Clans, who are at war.
In the book, it is said that Queen Oasis, a Wing of Sand, had three daughters, who have been fighting for the throne since their mother died: Fournaise, the eldest who is miserly with violence, Fièvre, the youngest and the cleverest one and finally Flame, the youngest who only cares about her appearance. All three think only of power and its privileges.
Later in the story, we discover the "Prophecy of the Whelps", which consists of: seven whelps will hatch during the Clearest Night, a Wing of Mud, Sea, Sky, Night and Sand . Unfortunately, the egg of Heaven will be killed by Fournaise, who cursed the Prophecy: she will do everything to prevent it from happening.
The Clans[edit | edit source]
As said above, there are 7 Clans in this story. The Wings of Sand, Mud, Sea, Sky, Rain, Night and Ice. Clans each have a particular property, depending on its element.
All Clans are ruled by a Queen, no King has ever ascended the throne.
