Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a video game series made by the company Rockstar Games. It is named for "grand theft auto" which is another name for car theft, since the games show a number of violent crimes like car theft and murder. Each game is set in an open world, where you can complete missions that usually involve driving or shooting. The main series consists of seven games:
- Grand Theft Auto (1997)
- Grand Theft Auto 2 (1999)
- Grand Theft Auto III (2001)
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004)
- Grand Theft Auto IV (2008)
- Grand Theft Auto V (2013)
