Captain America: Civil War is American superhero film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and released on 2016. This is the thirteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the first film of Phase III.

It is the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014).

Plot[change | change source]

Following the extensive damage caused by the Avengers (particularly during the battle against Ultron), the United Nations demands that their activities be monitored, and 117 countries approve this measure. The Avengers must sign a document to show their acceptance, leading to conflict among them. This conflict is interrupted by Steve Rogers (Captain America), who has just learned of the death of his childhood sweetheart and must attend her funeral.

Some time later, the King of Wakanda (T'Challa's father) is killed in an explosion, and Bucky Barnes is framed. T'Challa is determined to avenge his father and kill Barnes, but Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson (Falcon) intervene, and all are arrested. Steve encounters an exasperated Tony Stark (Iron Man), who asks them one last time to sign. However, when Stark tells him he is holding Wanda Maximoff prisoner in her home, Steve refuses.

Meanwhile, someone discovered that if you speak a series of words in Russian to Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier), he is compelled to obey. This same individual orders Barnes to leave the building, killing as many people as possible. The fight is fierce, but the Avengers manage to subdue Barnes, and he regains consciousness.

Captain America and Falcon want to pursue the mysterious man, but Stark is against it. Each assembles a small group (Falcon, Winter Soldier, Wanda, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man for Captain America; and Vision, War Machine, Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Black Widow for Iron Man), and a fierce confrontation erupts between the now-divided Avengers.
