This is a policy on the English Vikidia. This means it should be followed as part of the rules of the site.

An Edit war happens when users constantly revert each others edits. This usually happens when 2 or more users argue and complain with each other about whose edit is correct or something else and then they start reverting each others edits.

In this situation, an administrator will normally warn all the users and, if the edit war continues, then administrators may block those users involved, and consider protecting the article where the edit war is happening (temporarily), until things calm down.

This is a situation which users should try to avoid, and if you have a problem with someone else's edits, talk to that person first on their talk page, and try to work out what you disagree over. If you cannot reach a place you agree on, then you should post to the Requests for Administrators page, and we will help you to sort out the problem.
