Genes control the growth, repair and functions that each cell carries inside the human body. Are sections of DNA, a long molecule chemistry of helical shape which is located in the nucleus of each cell in the form of structures called chromosomes. Genes are arranged in 22 pairs of paired chromosomes, plus two sex chromosomes, and are the modes of transmission of characteristics from parents to children. The gene is located in a specific area of the chromosome.
