Hello! My name is Deborah. I come from the United States: born in New York City and grew up in Southern California. Before starting a family, my husband and I came to live in Israel, on a kibbutz. We live in the Western Galilee on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

My first language is English. From ages 10 to 12 I lived in a small town just north of the Mexican border and everyone in school learned Spanish, which I later used working as a hospital clerk. In college I studied French my first year. Before moving to Israel I started studying Hebrew and after a few years became fluent enough to work as a translator (Hebrew to English). I like learning other languages but just to read (not speak). In Wikimedia I help small Wikipedia projects, mainly in African languages.

My last job before retiring was in a Holocaust history and heritage museum and archives. I'm interested in history and culture.
