Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was a German composer. He was an organist and choir director. He wrote many pieces of music for the organ, harpsichord, orchestra, and choir. Among his best known works are the Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor for organ, the St. Matthew Passion for organ, orchestra, and choir, the Brandenburg Concertos for orchestra, The Well Tempered Clavier and the Goldberg Variations for harpsichord.
