Ernst Ingmar Bergman (1918–2007) was a Swedish film director and writer. He lived to be 89 years old.
He won an Oscar award in 1960 for The Virgin Spring and another Oscar in 1982 for Fanny and Alexander.
His films often told stories about loneliness. Another theme in his films is people looking for God.
Many focused on actor's faces to show feeling and personality.
