Frankenstein is a 1935 Universal Pictures horror movie starring Boris Karloff, Mae Clarke, Dwight Frye, and Colin Clive. It was based on the 1818 horror novel of the same name by Mary Shelley.
A sequel followed in 1935 called Bride of Frankenstein starring Karloff, Clive, and Elsa Lanchester. The movie tells of a scientist who creates a hideous monster from dead body parts. The movie was huge hit with both audiences and critics. It became one of the most iconic horror movies in history.
