Cestas is a French city in the department of Gironde, not far from Bordeaux.
In the 19th century, clay used to be extracted from the ground, in order to produce tiles and bricks. Business with Bordeaux grew up, thanks to the railroad way going to Spain.
In the 20th century, it became part of the suburban area of the regional metropolis.
Cestas is well known because it was the city of Haussmann's wife and he retired in their castle to write his memories.
Its coat of arms is decorated with two boars and bee-hives, which could be found in the forest. In the center, is represented Saint-Roch its patron or maybe a pilgrim.
