Ashique Thahir is an automobile enthusiast and entrepreneur hailing from Wayanad district in Kerala. Born on 7th September 1978, he completed his schooling at St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Sulthan Bathery and higher secondary education from Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara in Kochi. Ashique pursued a post-graduation in Business Management from Birmingham City University England. He also owns one of ‘The Best Garage’ with several sports cars in Kerala.[1]

Ashique Thahir an son of P C Thahir and Sekeena Thahir, Ashique got married to Lamiya Ashique. He has three children, Azam, Aira and Aheb. He has a brother, Aghin Thahir, who is a member of the Board of Directors of Team Thai.[2]

Career[edit | edit source]

Following a higher education in the UK, Ashique joined his family business ‘Team Thai’ as the Managing Director. Team Thai, which is a renowned company based in Kozhikode, has been involved in various business portfolios across Kerala, since 1984. He later became the Film producer and co-host of a show ‘Car & Country’ on Amazon Prime UK.[3]

Car and Country[edit | edit source]

Ashique, along with his friend Deepak Narendran, are the creators of the show, which was initially produced for Fox (international) in 2016. The show, which includes a visit to Cite de l’automobile’ at Mulhouse in France is currently available on Amazon Prime for UK audience. The duo will be shooting for the second season of ‘Car & Country’ by the end of 2021 and is in talks to bring in the show for Indian audience.[4]

Travel[edit | edit source]

Following a visit to Dubai in 1994, Ashique’s love for travelling grew and he has visited over 25 countries including Finland, Australia, South Africa and Czech Republic.[5]
