Agar.io is a game developed by Matheus Valadares, and later purchased by Miniclip.
The game was announced on 27 April, 2015.
Game company Miniclip released a mobile version of the game in 2016.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
In the game, you are a cell, and your goal is to eat other cells, and grow larger. On PC you can press space to split into two cells, each half your size. You can also press W to eject a blob of food, which other players can then eat.
The main source of food in the game are pellets, which can be found around the map.
This mechanic has been exploited with players forming alliances with other players.
Some players also instantly kill cells as they spawn (spawnkilling)
