The 16th century is the century from the years CE 1501 to CE 1600.
Major events[edit | edit source]
- Martin Luther, priest of the Catholic Church since 1507, opposes Pope's authority in 1517. In 1521, this leads to the beginning of protestantism as an alternate way to be Christian. In 1534, Martin Luther finishes his translation of the Bible in German.
