Tanzania is a country in eastern Africa. The legislative capital is Dodoma, and the largest city and executive capital is Dar es Salaam.
It is bordered by Uganda and Kenya to the north, the Indian Ocean to the east, Mozambique and Malawi to the south, Zambia to the southwest, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, and Rwanda to the west.

The country gained its independence from the British Empire in 1961.
Ethnicity[edit | edit source]
Because of the way Africa has been divided, Tanzania has over 120 ethnicity (Sukuma,Nyamwezi,Chagga...) and the many languages that comes with them.
Geography[edit | edit source]
It is the largest country in East Africa.
Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, is located in Tanzania, in Kilimanjaro Region, near Tanzania's border with Kenya.
Lake Tanganyika, the second deepest lake in the world, marks the border between Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The country has to face a rapid population growth due to a high number of birth and a low number of birth
Education[edit | edit source]
In Tanzania, 28.2 % of the population is illiterate. 3.2 million of children between the age of 7 and 17 don't go to school. Primary school lasts 7 years, followed by 4 years in secondary school (with an enrollment rate of 27 %) and finally 2 years of Advanced Level.
